My own coaching experience, accomplishments, honors & highlights: Head Coach of 4 USA Swimming Clubs (EAST, SCBD, MM, & SBSC), Head coach of 3 different high schools (Knox, Riley, & Penn). Multiple NIC and IHSAA Sectional Coach of The Year awards. 2024 IHSCAA State Coach of The Year
How and why I like to serve athletes and the sport of swimming: Coaching is not just my profession, it is my passion. Nothing is more rewarding than helping athletes work toward their goals and watching them achieve them.
Coaching philosophy: I am an athlete centered coach with a team first mentality. Athletes will always achieve more when working for the team. Our goal is provide the best environment for all athletes to reach their fullest potential.
How athletes should work with me: Athletes should never be afraid to approach me with any concern they have. Simply put, I am here for them.
How parents should work with me: Communicate, communicate, communicate. No one knows your child as well as you do. Your athletes positive experience in this sport will be largely dictated by how well we can all work together.
My family: Jill-wife, Assistant Superintendent Plymouth Schools. Cooper-son, sophomore at Notre Dame. Molly-daughter, junior Riley High School
Hobbies: When away from the pool you'll find me spending time exploring the local restaurant scene with my family. If it is a Saturday in the fall, you will see me cheering on Notre Dame football or rooting against their rivals!
Fun fact(s) about me: I was the head coach of the Michiana Marlins from 1998-2001.
